As part of Logan Center for the Arts Chicago Stages, Morgan Pirtle Quartet will perform a free one-hour set at Café Logan. This is a free pre-show concert before the University of Chicago Presents concert Tomeka Reid Stringtet. No tickets or reservations are needed to see the free show at Café Logan with Morgan Pirtle.

Tomeka Reid Stringtet at LOGAN CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Led by jazz superstar cellist and composer, Tomeka Reid, the Tomeka Reid Stringtet is a 17-member improvising chamber orchestra featuring prolific string players and percussionists from across the country. The ensemble unites for the Chicago premiere of a co-commissioned new work, bringing a collective fluency in all styles of contemporary creative music and previous collaborations ranging from William Parker and Henry Threadgill to Pauline Oliveros and Tristan Murail to Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder.
